 AWStats is a free powerful and featureful server logfile analyzer that shows you all your Web/Mail/FTP statistics including visits, unique visitors, pages, hits, rush hours, os, browsers, search engines, keywords, robots visits, broken links and more... 
Apache has been the most popular web server on the Internet since April of 1996. Apache is an open-source HTTP server for modern operating systems including UNIX and Windows NT.

FREE DATABASES – you need to store your information somewhere!

The MySQL database server is the world's most popular open source database. With more than five million active installations, MySQL has quickly become the core of many high-volume, business-critical applications.
 Another free open source database that is very powerful. It is not as popular as MySQL because for years it only ran on Unix systems. Now with the help of a product called CYGWIN you can install and run PostGresSQL on Windows.



JAVA – Java related tools and resources



The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.


Because of the original Linux license, any flavor of Linux has to be free! People like Red Hat try to hide the free version, but if you dig you will find it on their site for download. Because it is so big, you might just want to buy it since it's really very cheap.
